THORNTON LE DALE

Thornton-le-Dale may be one of the prettiest little villages you're liable to come across in England. The village is straddled either side of the A170 road from Scarborough to Pickering & Thirsk, and a tricky crossroad with an offshoot from the A169.

There's also a stream through the village (where part of the villages' beauty comes from), with an unprotected stretch running parallel with a section of pavement (weee......... SPLOSH!), but it usually isn't all that deep (I'd guess around 6-inches at the most in places).

Everyone in the village knows about the thatched home along the creek. It was so cool to see.

I can even get a plant to grow and these plants are growing right out of a wall. I love it!
