DISTRICT MEETING

These elders go home next week. I think they are excited.
 Elder Woods, White and Grimaldi

Elder Brown taught a lesson on goals and over coming obstacles to reach our goals. When he got through he had written a word close to the word FEAST or BEAST. He didn't mean to do this but it turn out cool.

MARCK'S BAPTISM

A great night for Marck and his family.
Some of the wonderful youth in the branch along with Elder Brown.
After the baptism we came into the cultural hall for some refreshments. It was really cold so these two women came and stood with me by the heater. We spoke very little to each other because we don't understand each others languages. Just standing there sharing a special moment with them I could feel their great love. Martha (in purple) will be baptized in a few weeks. Her husband Peter has been a member for awhile. This past week had been hard on her. They lived in a area of Sheffield that was not very good. Some bad kids who do not like the Slovak being here in England broke the windows and front door in their home during the night when their family was sleeping. These kids kick down the front door and ransacked their home. This family was forced to move. Now they are all settled into a better neighborhood where many members of the church live. They have a great support system amount the branch. Martha sees what the church can do for her family. She is a mother like me that wants the best for her family. She loves the Lord and is willing to follow him. Both of these women are wonderful. I love them so much.

SUNK DOWN WITH JOY

13...Now, when he had said these words, his heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy; and the queen also sunk down, being overpowered by the Spirit. (Book of Mormon, Alma, Alma 19)
Sometimes being in a meeting where you don't know the language can be to much for us. We are overcome  by the spirit.

TEACHING AFTER CHURCH

There has been this 21 year old man who has come to church for months. Elder Allen and I thought he was a member but he is not. The Elders asked us to help them teach after church today. So we picked a room and started to teaching him about the restoration and Joseph Smith. We told him about the Priesthood and the Book of Mormon also. He accepted everything. At the end of the lesson he said, "I have prayed to know if this church is true. Last night I had a dream and I was told it was." How cool is that? I tell you these people are truly inspiring humble people. They have so much faith and are so close to the Lord. I love teaching them and rubbing shoulders with them.

EDEN CAMP

A visit to Eden Camp will transport you back to wartime in Britain. During our visit we experience the sights, sounds and even smells of those dangerous years. This is a display of a young child during Nazi Germany
This is a photo of the massive ranks of Hitler's Nazi Party. These photo were unbelievable.
During the war in Britain they had black outs. At night everything had to be dark. Even the cattle were painted white so they could not be seen.
These people were reenacting the times of the 1940's.
 Elder Iversen, Allen and Wilson
Mick and Jan were here to do their 1940's reenactment. They spent most of the day with us.

  Check out the bomb shelters
When the American's came over to Britain they did not know how to drive on the left side of the road. This is what happened. Thank goodness Elder Allen had figured it out.
During WWII all the signs where taken down so the enemy when they came here would not know where to go. The problem was, after the war they didn't bother to put them back up.

These men were nice enough to stop and show us all the stuff they were carrying. They were really into it.
