JOHN ANTHONY THORNHILL

The Funeral Service for Brother John Thornhill was held today. He was a true English gentleman and loved by all. Many missionaries showed up to show their respect to him along with his friends and neighbors.

When we got to Sheffield 2 chapel I saw this van. I told Elder Allen "That looks like the mission van. Do you think the AP's are here?" Elder Goodwin knew Brother Thornhill very well. He brought his companion Elder Mosley to the funeral. There were a total of about ten missionaries there plus the AP's at the funeral.

Brother Thornhill was a great help to the missionary work here in Sheffield. He help with transport of many of the Slovak member to church and activities. He helped teach lessons and whatever help the missionaries needed he was there. It made me cry when President Dunka showed up with many of the Slovak men in the branch. They had come to show their love for this great man.  Brother Thornhill will be greatly missed here in Sheffield.  — at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Sheffield 2)
